FAQ

Thank you for your interest in my work! Here are some questions you might be considering when requesting custom artwork. If your question is not listed below, head over to the contact section and I'll be happy to address it directly.

What mediums do you work in?

I work mostly in watercolor and acrylic, but if your heart is set on another medium, feel free to inquire.

How do I choose what type of art I want?

A lot of people know they want something created, but aren’t sure what. My one piece of advice is don’t overthink it. Ask yourself what you want to look at every day. There are no rules here. It’s just what YOU like, and doesn’t have to fit into any pre-existing box. If you’re still unsure, we can brainstorm!

Do you do replicas?

Rather than carbon-copies of someone else’s work, I’m a big believer in “inspiration pieces.” If you like something that you’ve seen, I strongly encourage you to share that and let me know what you like about it. Whether it’s the subject, color palette, or a general concept, I love to get an idea of what a customer likes so that I can incorporate some of those elements into your own original piece of artwork.

I saw something of yours that I like, can you create the same piece twice?

If something you've seen caught your eye, I can create a similar piece. However, keep in mind that no two pieces will turn out exactly alike. Your piece will have many of the elements you loved, along with some of its own character. If the original piece is still available, it can be purchased directly or a print can be made.

Do you work from photos?

Yes. If you have a specific idea inspired by a photograph, I can certainly work from that. That said, I am not taking portrait commissions at this time.

What are your prices?

Prices vary due to the unique elements in each custom piece. I have a base pricing list that I offer with each inquiry for you to get an idea of a starting cost. These prices, based on size and materials, are a starting point and subject to adjustment after details of the piece are discussed. Cost will always be determined before the process begins, so there are no surprises.

Where are you based and do you ship artwork?

I am based in the Raleigh area of North Carolina. If you’re not local, I do ship artwork within the continental United States. Shipping costs are added to the cost of the piece.
